# ZFS and Oracle


I already knew (Open)Solaris 
[sucks](/2009/april/23/oracle_and_opensolaris/index.html), 
but now 
[Ton has also figured it out](http://tonkersten.com/archives/2009/07/13/completely_had_it_with_opensolaris/index.html).

ZFS definitely does *not* suck. Why not petition
[Oracle](http://www.oracle.com) to GPL(v2) ZFS? Especially now Oracle
[wants to kill
OpenSolaris](http://blogs.computerworld.com/is_oracle_getting_ready_to_kill_opensolaris)?
